Jodi Foster’s Lifetime Achievement Award

Jodi Foster is the epitome of Hollywood class.

The Golden Globes were a big hit.  I was thrilled about every single win, and thought they were all deserved.  I was so excited that Christoph Waltz won for Django Unchained – I didn’t even realize that he was up against Leo!  But it was so well deserved, I simply adored him in that movie.

It was a bit of a shock to see Argo win for best feature film over Django Unchained, Lincoln, Life of Pi, and Zero Dark Thirty.  I haven’t actually seen it yet but I thought for sure one of the other heavyweights in this category would win.

However, my absolute favorite moment of the night had to be Jodi Foster’s acceptance speech for her Lifetime Achievement Award.  Talk about the epitome of poise and grace.  She is a role model to all women, actresses or not.  This is how you gain respect and notoriety in Hollywood: class, intelligence, hard work, and self-respect.  Go, Jodi!  And Penelope Longstreet, we can have a drink or a simultaneous nervous breakdown together any time!

Brava, Jodi.  Here’s to the next 50!

  1. I am so glad there is a pro Jodi speech (cant even believe those words are coming out of my mouth!). I keep reading all of this negative stuff about her speech and is nice to see someone who appreciates what she did up there!

    • I can’t believe all the scuttlebutt that’s come about in the last day concerning her speech. Like you said in your post, it wasn’t a coming out speech, it was a beautiful speech acknowledging who she is as a person and an actress and about being grateful for her lifetime achievement. Nothing more, nothing less – I don’t know why everything needs to be turned into something epic.
